 The late Sen. Edward M Kennedy is famous for this quote: 

" For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."*

  I just hope he was right. But when it comes to what I see as an organized attack on America, from within, I must tell you. 

What I see are skirmishes. Battles, to be sure...and attacks that do need to be addressed and fought off, such as those against abortion rights/womens healthcare, voter suppression, gay rights, union rights, minority rights. All issues that speak to the very fundamental principles upon which America was founded. Equality, fairness, and liberty for all who call this country home. 

But what I do not see anywhere, is a cogent conversation about the war that is being fought against this country, and again...from within.

A war that is being fought for the very fabric, the heart & soul of the country.

It goes without saying that the attacks on our rights do need to be addressed, but they also need to be seen for what they are. Distractions. Tactics, Ploys. Ideologically-based & driven distractions used to divert attention and distract the American people to keep the focus away from what is really going on...and I do not see anyone talking about that.  Not MSNBC, Not CNN, NOT NBC, not the NYT...not anyone.

If America does not begin to wake up and soon, the inroads the elites behind all of this have made and are making towards the elimination of our very way of life and the soul of this country will continue...and continue until that road we all walk down is closed to all of us but the Masters of our then-sealed fate.

'WE THE PEOPLE'...need to stop being so blind. Stop looking at every attack upon our rights as being 'THE WAR', and realize 'THE WAR' is being fought on a much grander scale and for much bigger odds with much greater perils in store for America if 'WE THE PEOPLE' do not get our act together. We better get organized and fast...and at least as organized as our opposition, lest they roll over all of us like a run-away steamroller on steroids. They know what their aims & goals are. Do we? They know what the stakes are, but do we?

 GAME PLAN

The attacks, make no mistake about it, are part of a coordinated, well-organized, well-financed game plan.  A war-games plan if you will, and the Right-wing TeaPartiers/Conservatives, the right-wing conservative media & entertainment complex, as well as the conservative (and some liberal) politicians...are being used to help perpetuate it by getting them to focus on the wrong things and subsequently to cause infighting, strife, and division...while the war rages on around them and that then will move on without them. 

Each of these attacks, while significant, are being staged, executed, and perpetuated by stooges...and there are far more than three, unfortunately. Corrupted politicians, a low-information, uneducated, gullible, fear-driven electorate especially on the conservative side and especially in the south, the southwest & the great plains. Evangelicals, the neo-cons, and more who each have their own agendas that the elites are co-opting through super-stooges like Karl Rove, Dick Armey, Dick Morris, and others.

WHY? TO WHAT END?

It is all about one thing and one thing only.

P O W E R!

Absolute power. Wrested from a corrupt political class and an ignorant/apathetic electorate in order to rule. Ironically, almost half the country is helping. Sadly ironic...and as long as the elites who desire to rule this country can keep the rest of us ignorant, divided, and fighting each other over ideological issues that do not address what is really at stake, they win.

Can anyone? Can you...honestly think that the Citizens United case was a random coincidence? An accident in timing, and put forth as an idea seen by its proponents as a method of inserting fairness into our present political system mess?

I would hope nobody is that stupid. 

I surely am not.

The attacks, if you will notice, are all substantively about one thing. Rights. The rights of people. 

Our rights. 

The simple truth is: when you can successfully subjugate entire groups of people and take away their fundamental rights you can control them. When you deprive people of even basic education, you effectively dumb down the population which makes them far more malleable and easier to be manipulated. Controlled. It is no coincidence that there has been a systematic attack on public education in the last few years. But the general populace sees this as nothing more than a fiscal attack on a government program without really understanding any of it. 

 NOPE. It's about POWER.

At the end of the day, that is what all of this is about and that is what has been going on systematically in this country for well over three decades at least. It is about power and about the elites who desire unlimited amounts of it for themselves. Content to work in the shadows for most of that time the likes of David & Charles Koch and others of their ilk have now emerged and are standing in full public view in a way that is arrogantly defiant.

Now if you like having a ring in your nose, and like having no freedom or liberty. No ability to choose for yourself and no say in what happens in this country, then by all means. Suck up to the plutocrats. Bury your faces in their asses. Be my guest. Yield. Give up. Surrender.

But, if you do not like that idea, (and I sure as hell don't), then you better wake up, stand up and be counted as people who will rise up against the accelerating movements that threaten our democratic society.  Because...

If YOU do not? Then WHO?

If not NOW? Then WHEN?

If not US? Then it will be them in absolute power...and it will be we who handed over willingly the keys to our kingdom.  

It will be so, and to quote the owner of Mens Wearhouse...

'YOU WILL NOT LIKE WHAT HAPPENS...I GUARANTEE IT'.
